The transfer of Meazza from Ambrosiana to Milan was a sensation of the time. It was comparable to a similar event at the beginning of the twenty-first century, when Ronaldo switched over to Milan. Without a doubt the transfer of Peppino Meazza to Milan was controversial, but some fans at the time did not agree. Others at Ambrosiana did not agree either. But in the end he was won over by the extremists, who did not believe in the move, more because of his illness of frozen foot syndrome, than the actual move itself.
Although Meazza himself was not convinced that he should go to Milan, the drama continued. But with all disputes aside and to bring silence and resolution to it all, the Duce himself had a part to play in the matter. Mussolini stepped in and gave the orders and all accepted his decision: By the will of Il Duce, Meazza will go to Milan!
