For every Boffi that leaves, there’s a Carapellese that replaces him. This was the sentiment when Riccardo Carapellese joined Milan in 1949. The new rossoneri striker was born in 1922, and wore his Milan shirt for the first time when his career was struggling to take off. He had previously played for Serie B teams, but he then made his way to show his worth in Milan as a test of his talent. Riccardo was able to reach an impressive scoring streak over his three seasons with Milan, attaining 52 goals in 106 appearances.
Carapellese had many female companions in his time, this in part had been suspected of diminishing his good performance. His distractions had become so influential that Milan eventually withdrew him from the team. Despite his non-sport misfortunes, Carapellese remains influential in the history of football for his excellent technique, known for his ability to easily overcome any opponent.
