Milan History: The Rossoneri Tornado

The Coppa D’Italia (Italian Cup) will forever encompass the rivalry of two football leagues, that of Serie A and Serie B. Milan was able to add another record from the same season of their first Coppa Italia record: a major win against Padova with an 8-1 result. After winning the previous round in June of 1958, the event would continue on September 6th with the eight remaining finalists. The game against Bologna did not go so well for the Rossoneri, as the Rossoblu won at home with a 4-2 score. Milan still continued their celebration in reference to their 8-1 victory, a huge record under their belt.

The game against Padova was played at San Siro on September 13th of 1958 with the sound of great cheers as the Rossoneri flooded the scoreboard with a tornado of goals. The Milan goals were executed by players like Danova with his usual double, accompanied by Altafini and center forward Luosi. Others followed putting on a fantastic show with goals from Occhetta, Grillo and Galli.
