As a striker Nordahl was in the hearts of every Rossonero fan. He was known as the first player after the war for which the Milanistas would be willing to do anything. Nordahl was a complete player with good technique and was unselfishly characterized by his precise volley shot. His skill was so proverbial that many tried to discover his secret strength. The reason for his skill seems to lie in the fact that as a young man, when he played Polo, in between breaks, his father invited him to warm up by kicking the ball towards the door that was a distance of fifty meters. It is said that Nordahl was originally marked for recruitment by Juventus, but luckily ended up playing for Milan, the right team where he had fully exploited all his capabilities.
