The Coppa D’Italia (or Italian Cup) tournament of 1958 started in the month of June and ended on November 4th, leaving the ongoing Serie A games in progress. The Rossoneri participated and gained only modest results while obtaining sixth position after being defeated 1-0 against Sampdoria in the game for fifth place.
Despite this, the games still earned a page in Milan history as their debut games resulted in an away win (5-0) at Sinigaglia stadium with a major shutout and flurry of goals against Como. The win was a result of goals by Grillo, Schiaffino, Fontana and Danova with 2 goals. The game was practically won after just forty-five minutes leaving Como with very little consolation.
