Milan Fact: When The First Prominently Italian Rossoneri Won the Scudetto

Milan consisting of few English much more Italian players won the Scudetto. The Acquabella field proved to be a short-term solution seeing that in November 1905 Milan changed once again, and moved to the Porta Manforte at via Bronzetti, where they stay until 1914. Although for only a few months a few games were still played at the Acquabella. A gentleman living nearby by the name of De Vecchi, better known as “Figlio di Dio” (Son of God), was one of the great players of that time. At the Porta Manforte field the tally of goals began to rise quickly for the first time.

The number of foreign players to italians had dropped from four to one. The separation of interistas in the next two years, gave way to the beginnings of italianization of soccer. As Milan won the scudetto again on the 6th of May 1906, it marked another great win in the few years of Milan’s existence. The team that won on that victorious day of April 29, 1906 against Juventus, consisted of the following members: Trerè II, Kilpin, Meschia, Bosshard, Giger, Heuberger, Pedroni I, Rizzi, G. Colombo, Attilio Colombo, and with Kilpin an Trerè as coaches.
