AC Milan is the one of the greatest football teams in the world, many may say THE BEST! With that comes the privilege of having the best players in the world play for the team. But many may argue, is it the team that makes the player, or the players that make the team? Whichever side of the fence you are on, you may all be right. Some players may already be great, but become even greater when they join a team, especially a team like AC Milan. 

Undeniably the list below shows the top 10 AC Milan strikers, but the rank considers top strikers who made their mark wearing the Rossonero jersey.

10. Pierino Prati

Commonly known as “Pierino La Peste” (Pierino the Pest), he makes the list as he was one of the top goal scorers for AC Milan with 102 goals in 209 appearances. This is basically an average of 2 goals per game, and with that it earned him the ability to take Milan to the top many times, giving AC Milan a Scudetto (67/68 season), one European Cup (1969), two Coppa Italia’s (71/72, 72/73 seasons), two European Winners’ Cups (67/68, 72/73 seasons), and one Intercontinental Cup (in 1969).


9. Ricardo Kaka

With 104 goals in 307 appearances, he gave AC Milan the oppotunity to earn numerous titles such as one Scudetto (2003/04 season), an Italian Supercoppa (2004 season), a UEFA Champions League Cup (2006/07 season), one UEFA Super Cup (2007 season), and one FIFA Club World Cup (2007 season). 


8. Giuseppe Santagostin0

Nicknamed “Pin” not for any particular reason besides his real name being shortened commonly as Pino among Italians. He was part of Milan’s youth team and made his mark later on to be one of Milan’s top scorers. Right after San Siro was built, he was the one who claimed the first goal ever in the arena. Despite his high goal count, he was not able to claim any Scudetto for Milan, as he played for the Rossoneri during 1921-1932, the period of the Scudetto dry-spell.


7. Marco Van Basten

Every year he played, he brought on a consistent series of goals totaling 124 goals in 201 appearances. His goal scoring accomplishments brought Milan to insurmountable heights in Milan’s golden era. Van Basten was a contributing force to Milan achieving four Scudetto (87/88, 91/92, 92/93, 93/94 seasons), four Italian Supercoppas (88, 92, 93, 94 seasons), two European Cups (88/89, 89/90 seasons), two European Supercups (89, 90 seasons), and two Intercontinental Cups (89, 90 seasons).


6. Filippo Inzaghi

It’s a lower average of goals per game than most other strikers in this list, but nonetheless he brought on great achievements for Milan in the 10 years he played for them. During his time at Milan they achieved two Scudettos (2003-04, 2010-11 seasons), one Italian Coppa (2002-03 season), two Italian Supercoppas (2004, 2011 seasons), two UEFA Champions League Cups (2002-03, 2006-07 seasons), two UEFA Supercups (2003, 2007 seasons), and one FIFA Club World Cup (2007 season).
